Trastra Review
At first glance, the Trastra card seems to be well positioned in the world of crypto debit cards. Indeed, it seems to offer a way to load your card with crypto-currencies and euros (EUR) so you can manage your daily spending in one place.
However, it's not as impressive as Binance, crypto.com and even Bitpanda.
A few aspects of Trastra can be improved:
- Lack of direct crypto-currency support: The Trastra card doesn't let you spend real crypto-currencies, as you can only load the card with euros (EUR). This makes the card a little disappointing for people who wanted an easy way to convert their crypto-currencies into euros at the time of a transaction.
- Euro-centric design: The fact that each Trastra card comes with a personal IBAN number so that you can receive SEPA transfers into your account is rather interesting. However, even though the card is available in the UK and EEA, it's only really useful if you live in the euro zone. The lack of sterling and dollar support and the 3% transaction fee for transactions outside the euro make the card impractical.
- High fees: Overall, the Trastra card's fees aren't terrible, but the €15 annual service fee is a nuisance. Trastra also charges a hefty 5% fee for the purchase of the card.
If you live in a eurozone country and want a simple way to convert your crypto-currencies into euros (EUR) so that you can load these funds onto a debit card, the Trastra card is for you. If you want to go further, however, you'll have to turn to Binance, Bitpanda, Nexo or crypto.com.
Benefits
- Simple to use
Disadvantages
- Frais élevés
- Pas de conversion automatique crypto-euro
